CEO Speaker Series: Jason Jiang, CEO of Focus Media

The HBS Alumni Club of Shanghai cordially invites you to an alumni dinner event with Jason (Nanchun) Jiang, the CEO of Focus Media on Thursday, February 24th, 2011.   

Mr. Jiang is a highly successful media entrepreneur. He is the founder and CEO of Focus Media, a multi-platform digital media company that operates out-of-home advertising network using audiovisual digital displays in China. The company listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange in 2005, and currently has a market capitalization of ~US$ 3.6 billion. 

Mr. Jiang will speak about his experiences founding and managing a leading media company in China's rapidly changing media industry.

About Jason Nanchun Jiang: 

Jason Nanchun Jiang is the founder of Focus Media, and has served as the chairman of the board of directors and chief executive officer since May 2003. From 1994 to 2003, Mr. Jiang was the chief executive officer of Everease Advertising Corporation, which is one of the top 50 advertising agencies in China. Starting in 2003, Mr. Jiang was general manager of Aiqi Advertising, an advertising company founded by his immediate family members in 1997 which was renamed Focus Media Advertising in May 2003.  In December 2003, Mr. Jiang was selected by China News Publisher’s Media magazine as one of the ‘‘Media People of the Year’’. In September 2003, Mr. Jiang was selected by the Television and Newspaper Committees of the China Advertising Commission as one of its ‘‘contemporary outstanding advertising media personalities’’. Mr. Jiang received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chinese language and literature from Huadong Normal University in 1995.

It operates out-of-home advertising network based on the number of locations and flat-panel television displays in its network.
